BMW X3 Technology
BMW iDrive
The X3 comes with the intuitive iDrive 7.0 infotainment system, an advanced system that connects to numerous features for information and entertainment. A 5.1-inch infotainment display is standard and boasts responsive inputs and sharp graphics for easy navigation and use. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ are included, giving you the option to sync your phone to the onboard system for on-the-go music, audiobooks, and podcasts. Navigation, a Wi-Fi Hotspot, two USB ports, and Bluetooth® connectivity are also included. You can upgrade with available features, like a gesture-control feature for the infotainment system. Its screen is conveniently divided into five sections: apps, car control, navigation, communication, and media.
BMW Live Cockpit Plus
The X3 comes standard with the Live Cockpit Plus from BMW, which is a system that keeps all the connected technology within your reach. The Live Cockpit Professional features a 5.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch Control Display, both of which can be customized and connected to apps and features. The Intelligent Personal Assistant combines with the Live Cockpit Plus system to give you access to your infotainment system, navigation, and vehicle stats quickly and easily. Another feature that works with Live Cockpit Plus is the available Head-up Display, which projects vehicle information onto the windshield. You’ll be able to see all the information you need, including your speed and directions from navigation, all directly in your view. With this feature, you’ll limit distractions caused by trying to find the information you need or by taking your eyes off the road, or your hands off the wheel.
Safety Features
The Active Driving Assistant comes standard for the X3 and offers a range of safety features and technology to make your driving experience safer and more confident. You’ll have systems, like Frontal Collision Warning for pre-collision detection. Lane Departure Warning is also included and can help you stay safely in your lane on the highway. Park Distance Control is a system that can help you safely get in and out of tight parking spots. Another exciting feature is Active Blind Spot Detection, which alerts you if there’s a vehicle in your path when changing lanes or reversing. This feature uses visual and audio alerts to help potentially avoid collisions when vehicles or obstacles are in your blind spot. A more advanced package, the optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds more systems, including Active Cruise Control. This system helps you keep up with the flow of traffic by adjusting your speed to maintain a set following distance from the vehicle in front of you.
